How it all started...
Cedar Hills Baptist Church was constituted on September 28, 1958, as a mission of Lake Shore Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. There were 162 in Sunday School that day, with even more participating in corporate worship. The desire was the plant a beacon for the gospel in this community. In 1972, the church voted to open Cedar Hills Baptist Christian School, which has seen thousands of students receive Christian education over that time. The school now has over 215 students enrolled and continues to be a thriving ministry, with both the church and school sharing the campus at 4200 Jammes Road.
For over 67 years, Cedar Hills Baptist Church was a lighthouse for the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Cedar Hills community and beyond. Over that time, they planted multiple new works around the city, and was an active and participating member of First Coast Churches, the Florida Baptist Convention, as well as the Southern Baptist Convention.

Where we are...

As the world has changed, we believe that the gospel is just as relevant today as it was in 1958 when our first worship service was held. We still seek to be gospel-oriented, discipleship-driven, Great Commission-minded, and people-focused. As we transition to Hope Church at Cedar Hills, we would love to invite you to be a part of our church family!
